In the 1930s, the British Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC) negotiated a concession to explore for oil, and in 1934, the Kuwait Oil Company formed and registered as a joint enterprise with the APOC, which later became BP. There are ample opportunities for Kuwait to tap into the UK's experience. Over the past decade, economic reforms in the UK has enabled job creation and has driven the unemployment rate to one among the lowest among advanced economies, at below 5%.
